$275 per traveller. That covers transport from Panama City, the sailing, the meals of the format and the guide. Outside it sits the comarca entry, $22 for foreigners and $7 for residents, paid in cash on the way in.
This format sells an area, not a named island: what you'll see is Cabañas Guna, Cayos remotos, Comunidad Guna. In the remote cays you anchor where the sea allows that day, so the skipper picks the exact spot in the morning.
Departure is always before dawn, around 5:00, because the mountain pass and the tide impose it. The return depends on the format: single-day trips come back that afternoon, multi-night ones on the last day.
The cays a short departure rules out for distance, and time itself. With three days the long crossing stops being a timetable problem, and in the village you move from looking to talking. The $275 buy that margin, not a better bed.
More the second than people expect. A good part of the programme happens on land, with the community and its cooking, and swimming is a part of the day rather than the day itself. Anyone coming to lie in the sun for three days fits a short format better.
No, and it is not a commercial rule: the second day is the one that reaches the far cays, so trimming it leaves out exactly what people come for. Anyone with only two days fits the one-night format better, which has a different plan and a different price.
