Description

Perro Grande gets far fewer visitors than its smaller neighbour, which makes it the natural choice if you want beach, palm shade and real quiet — for anniversaries, honeymoons, or simply switching off as a couple without boat noise around you.

It is the island next to the famous shipwreck, but with a different feel: while Perro Chico gathers nearly every group, here you can walk the shoreline, hang a hammock and not cross paths with anyone for a good while. Arrival around 8:30, island lunch at 12:30 and the Natural Pool at 15:30.

Pickup at 5:00 am at your hotel, door-to-door 4x4 and about two and a half hours of mountain road. Includes boat with life jackets, a typical lunch and a local guide. The comarca fee is separate, paid the same day, in cash or by card to the driver.

Great if it's the two of you and you want a quiet beach without paying for a private charter.

What is the price?

What exactly do you see?

This route names 1: Isla Perro Grande. Some formats sell an area rather than a single island, because in the remote cays you anchor where the sea allows that day.

What time do you leave and when do you return?

Departure is always before dawn, around 5:00, because the mountain pass and the tide impose it. The return depends on the format: single-day trips come back that afternoon, multi-night ones on the last day.

Is this a private tour?

No. The boat is shared just like on every other departure; what changes is the island. Isla Perro Grande receives far fewer groups than its small neighbour, so the calm is not bought, it comes with the destination. A genuine private charter is quoted separately and costs something else.

Can you see the sunken ship from here?

It is not part of this route. The wreck lies off the neighbouring island and belongs to another tour in the catalogue, with its own stop and its own gear. If you came for that photograph, choose that departure; if you came for quiet, this one.

Is there room to hang a hammock?

Usually yes, and it is one of the reasons to come here instead of the island next door: there are palms and there is free shoreline. Bring your own, because nothing is rented on the island and whatever does not arrive in the boat does not turn up later.
